The End Is Near

Sunset at Pack Monadnock

As much as I love the fall, it’s always sad to see summers’ long days depart. I snapped this picture last week when I met Ashley for a post-work hike up Pack Monadnock. We were blessed with the perfect combination of weather, as it’s that funky time between summer and fall that had us leaving the parking lot comfortably wearing shorts and tee-shirts…but with each passing moment, the rapidly cooling air provided the inspiration needed to keep moving. Shortly after reaching the top, we watched the sun set, felt the temperature drop further, donned our headlamps, and descended back to the car. It’s hard to believe that soon headlamps will be required for the entire trip.
