A Trip to the Desert in Photos

“One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple.”
― Jack Kerouac, The Dharma Bums

At the moment, I lack the words to adequately describe the beauty of the American Southwest, but perhaps someday I will find them. Until then, enjoy a few photos of a whirlwind trip Ashley and I took to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks a few weeks ago. In Denver for a wedding, we couldn’t decide on what to do as we thought it was too early in the season to ski and too late in the season to climb. We figured (correctly) that the weather in the desert would be perfect. Ashley had never been to the desert before and I almost enjoyed seeing her reaction to the other-worldly formations almost as much as I enjoyed the formations themselves. If you’ve never been to either of these incredible places, put them on your list…I’m already trying to talk Ashley into a return trip to mountain bike.
